TEHRAN (Shana): By development of South Pars gas field phase 19, production capacity of the phase would be increased considerably and at its peak, more than 20 thousands jobs would be created, managing director of the Petropars Company, Gholamreza Manouchehri announced here on Wednesday.

in an exclusive interview with Shana, Petropars managing director said that the phase would be implemented in the form of EPC stipulating that onshore part of the project, building its refinery and drilling the wells of the phase would be carried out directly by Petropars while the offshore part of the project would be performed by Iran Offshore Engineering and Construction (IOEC) company.

Concerning the foreign companies presence in the project, Mr. Manouchehri stipulated that part of the needed parts of the project would be imported form other countries but it is predicted that the share of domestically made parts in the project to be increased.

Petropars managing director stated that production capacity of the phase 19 would be equivalent of two standard phases of the South Pars and its final Production capacity would stand at 50 million cubic meters of natural gas per day.

The aim of development South Pars gas field phase 19 is to produce 50 million cubic meters of processed gas per day scheduled to be injected to the national gas pipeline network.

The project also intends to produce 80 thousand barrels of gas condensate and 400 tons of sulfur each day.

Production of 1.05 thousand tons of LPG and one million ton of ethane, as petrochemical feedstock, per year are among the other goals of the phase 19 development.

The contracts to develop six phases of South Pars gas field was signed June 15 in Assalyue with domestic companies that include phases 13, 14,19, 22, 23 and 24.

The South Pars field is a gas condensate field located in the Persian Gulf. It is the world’s largest gas field and is shared by Iran and Qatar. According to the International Energy Agency, the field holds an estimated 50.97 trillion cubic meters (1800 trillion cubic feet) of in-situ gas and some 50 billion barrels of condensates.
