South Pars Phases 4 & 5
The Development of the South Pars Gas Fields, Phases 4&5 was awarded in 2000 to a consortium formed by Agip 60% and Petropars 40% on a buy-back basis.
Later, Petropars transferred 50% of its share to N.I.C.O.

The present share breakdown is as follows :

  • Eni (Agip)         60%
  • Petropars         20%
  •  NICO                20%

This Project Was Officially Inaugurated April 2005.Over 18000 Personnel were active during the peak of phases 4&5(over 97% of them were Iranian forces).The Iranian construction share of this project was over 44% equivalent to 850 million USD.

Official hand-over and transfer of operator ship to   NIOC / POGC for the offshore , onshore , drilling facilities and 56" onshore pipeline From ENI as operator in the second half of 2008  .

Project Objectives :

  • Meeting domestic natural gas needs.
  • Increasing export gas volume.
  • Substituting natural gas instead of other oil products.

  • Lean gas which shall be transported by a 75 km long 56² pipeline to IGAT-3 tie-in manifold in the vicinity of Kangan Gas Refinery.
  • Ethane gas which shall be transported to NPC through a 16² pipeline.
  • Treated LPG which shall be refrigerated and stored in double wall storage tanks to be pumped to LPG carriers for export.
  • Condensate stored in special storage tanks which shall be exported through the existing Phase 1 SBM.
Main Parts of the Project :
 
Project Services : 3% of the implementation operations of the project (equivalent to 6% of the project costs) pertains to this part
Wells : 7% of the implementation operations (equivalent to 13% of project costs) is allocated to this part.
Offshore Facilities : 20% of the implementation operation of the Project (equivalent to 20% of project costs) pertains to this part.
Onshore Facilities : 70% of the implementation operations of the project (equivalent to 61% of project costs) pertains to this part.

Project Human Resources :

The number of man power used at the peak of phases 4&5 activities reached 18000 personnel 97% of which were Iranian.

Local Content :

The Iranian Content of the project amounts to 44% equivalent to USD M850.
