Drilling of 5 Wells of South Pars Phase 11 Due to Begin Late Spring 1399
The Managing Director of Petropars described the Coronavirus pandemic which happened late 1398 (late March 2020) the most important cause for the delay in loading of South Pars Phase 11 Jacket, and added “Upon erection of Phase 11 Jacket, the drilling of 5 wells of South Pars Phase 11 will commence late Spring or early Summer 1399 (July 01, 2020).

In an interview with SHANA, Engineer Hamid-Reza Masoudi stated that the operations for the fabrication of South Pars Phase 11 Jacket had already been completed and that presently the preliminary steps were being taken for loading of the Jacket. He reiterated “We hope the loading operations of the Jacket will have been completed by mid-Ordibehesht 1399 (May 05, 2020).
He further added, “Upon loading of the Jacket and when it arrives at the Persian Gulf Waters, the operations for erection of the Jacket will commence. Subsequently, the drilling of the 5 wells of South Pars Phase 11 will begin.
In connection with the date when the operations for the drilling of 5 wells of Phase 11 of South Pars will begin, the Managing Director of Petropars commented “If the climate proves stable, we will begin the drillings beginning as of late Khordad (June 20, 2020) or early (July 01, 2020) Tir1399.
On the reasons which contributed to the delay in loading of South Pars Phase 11 Jacket, Engineer Hamid-Reza Masoudi said Coronavirus pandemic which took place in late 1398 and the directives notified for prevention of the spread of Coronavirus were the most important reasons for the delay. However, the operations for the loading of Jacket which are performed at Qeshm Island, have already started.
On the priorities set for Petropars Group in 1399, he stated “All projects which have been ceded to Petropars including Phase 11 of South Pars Gas Field, Belal Project, Farzad Project, etc. are considered very important and these projects will simultaneously proceed under the execution.
The Project for Development of South Pars Phase 11 was fully assigned to Petropars after TOTAL of France and China National Petroleum Corporation International (CNPCI) left the consortium.
