Petroleum Minister: Erection of Phase 11 Jacket Makes Drilling of 12 Production Wells Feasible
In the course of ceremonies which was held at the presence of President Rouhani for floating of the first Jacket of Phase 11 of South Pars Gas Field Development, the Petroleum Minister commented, “What is important is the fact that under the present conditions when sanctions are imposed against us, we will never be stopped and we will continue to make progress notwithstanding the sanctions.
Engineer Bijan Zanganeh today (Thursday Khordad 01, 1399) stated, “Given the fact that South Pars Gas Field is a divine blessing for the nation of Iran, the operations for erection of the Jacket of B11 Platform of Phase 11 of South Pars Gas Field Development Project in its location (Block B), which is near the Qatari border, will commence today. Upon erection of the Jacket, which is worth USD 25 million, it will prove feasible to drill 12 production wells five of which are scheduled to be drilled at the first stage.”
He went on to add, “We have taken measures so that there will no need to manufacture a production platform for this Jacket. Upon erection of this Jacket and drilling of 5 production wells, it will prove possible and feasible for us to produce 14 million cubic meters of gas out of Phase 11 within the next 14 months.”
Stating that we are still reviewing and examining the subject of pressure-boosting in the onshore and offshore, the Petroleum Minister commented, “The final outcome of all reviews and examinations are expected to be determined and finalized by upcoming Mehr or Aban 1399 (October or November 2020) and we will make an appropriate decision accordingly.”
