Signing a MOU on Azadegan Field Development studies
In order to take advantage of the capacity of Iranian companies in the development of joint fields, a MOU for the development of Azadegan field studies was signed between the National Iranian Oil Company on the one hand and Petropars Company and a number of other Iranian exploration and production companies.
According to Report of Public Relations and international affairs of Petropars Group ,executive operation of gas production maintenance plan in Homa, Varavi and Tabnak fields within operational field of Iranian Company will be started on Monday (May 31).
These three MOUs will be signed between NIOC and Persia Oil and Gas Development Company to conduct northern part of Azadegan Field; NIOC and Petro Pars Company and Petro Iran Development Company to conduct studies on developing central part of Azadegan Oil Field; and NIOC and Pasargad Energy Development Company and Dana Energy Company to conduct studies on southern part of Azadegan Field.
In the case that these studies yield to contract conclusion and projects execution, domestic crude oil production will be increased, national capital in joint fields will be kept, domestic production will be boomed, broad employments will be generated in Khuzestan province and proper labor market will be established.
As the most important joint field, Azadegan Oil Field is located in west Karoon with an area of 1500km2 neighboring Iraq border and 80km from west Ahwaz. Oil in place at this field is estimated 32 billion barrels and is a joint field with Iraqi Majnoon Field.
It is worth mentioning that Petropars Company is currently responsible for the development of South Azadegan Oilfield form of a GC contract, which is divided into two central and southern parts according to these MOU.
