Readiness to Commence Pre-Commissioning Operations of the First Platform of Phase 11; Auxiliary Structures Installed

  2023 July 05
The auxiliary structures of the Phase 11 South Pars platform have been installed, preparing the platform for pre-commissioning operations.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs of Petropars Group, following the completion of the installation of the first gas platform for Phase 11 of South Pars last week, the platform’s supplementary operations, including the installation of two 80-meter-long connecting bridges with a total weight of 400 tons, a flare, and boat landing structures, were successfully completed using the Oceanic 5000 vessel.

With the completion of these operations, the total weight of the marine structures at the 11B site of South Pars now reaches approximately 8,000 tons, including the 3,200-ton main platform and the 4,200-ton underwater and auxiliary structures installed in earlier stages.

The installation of the Phase 11 platform’s boat landing structures will enable the mooring of the Welltarget2 drilling rig and the Abouzar 1200 operational vessel, allowing for the commencement of pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.

Once the commissioning operations, including hookup, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of the first gas platform for Phase 11 of South Pars—which is located about 130 kilometers offshore—are completed, early gas production from the final developmental phase of South Pars will begin soon.

During the commissioning process aimed at the exploitation of Platform 11B and achieving the first production phase of Phase 11’s development plan, additional production wells in the reservoir area of this platform will be drilled by the rig.

Gas produced from Platform 11B will be transported to onshore refineries located in Pars 2 via a 32-inch marine pipeline. After processing, the gas will be injected into the national gas transmission network.
