Production Surpasses 84,000 Barrels of Oil per Day at Iran's Largest Shared Oil Field

  2026 July 02
As part of the Ministry of Petroleum's strategy to accelerate the development of Iran's shared hydrocarbon fields, Petropars Group has increased production at the South Azadegan Shared Oil Field (GC) by 2,000 barrels of oil per day through the commissioning of the Godvan-75 well and the completion of the Sarvak-88 well. With this achievement, the total production capacity of the wells commissioned by Petropars within the field's Central Processing Package has reached 84,200 barrels of oil per day.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of Petropars Group, Dr. Hamidreza Saqafi, CEO of Petropars Group, highlighted the progress of the South Azadegan development project, stating:

From South Pars to South Azadegan, Petropars is pursuing a clear mission: transforming Iran's technical expertise, skilled workforce, and accumulated industry experience into sustainable production and long-term value creation for the country. Increasing production from shared fields is not merely an operational achievement; it is an integral part of the nation's broader strategy to safeguard national resources, maximize recovery from shared reservoirs, and strengthen energy security. Today, close collaboration among the client, contractors, and the country's oil industry specialists is delivering tangible results in the field and accelerating the pace of development."

Dr. Saqafi further noted:

As a subsidiary of the Ministry of Petroleum, Petropars remains committed to fulfilling the country's production objectives and advancing the development of shared fields by relying on the expertise of Iranian professionals and the experience gained through the execution of major oil and gas projects. Today's achievements are the outcome of systematic planning, integrated project management, and the tireless efforts of our colleagues working across every stage of the project."

As part of these activities, the Godvan-75 well, located on Wellhead Pad 80 of the South Azadegan Field, has been brought on stream, adding 2,000 barrels of oil per day to the field's production capacity. In addition, the Sarvak-88 well, with a production capacity of 500 barrels per day, has been completed following the reinstallation of its wellhead facilities and is now ready for handover to the operator.

Ebrahim Nari, Project Manager of the South Azadegan Shared Oil Field Development Project (GC) at Petropars Group, described the results of the recent operations, saying:

With these facilities entering production, the number of commissioned wells within the Central Processing Package has reached 49, increasing their combined production capacity to 84,200 barrels of oil per day."

He added:

This achievement reflects the continuous coordination and collaboration among all project disciplines, from drilling and well completion to facilities construction and production operations. Development activities are progressing in line with the project's objectives, with our primary focus remaining on sustainable production, maximizing existing capacities, and accelerating the commissioning of the remaining project facilities."

Concluding his remarks, Dr. Saqafi stated:

The development of the South Azadegan Field is one of the strategic projects of Iran's oil industry, and Petropars is fully committed to achieving its objectives by utilizing all of its technical, managerial, and operational capabilities. I sincerely appreciate the support of the National Iranian Oil Company, the project client, our contractors, and all colleagues whose dedication made this achievement possible. I am confident that, through continued cooperation, we will take further significant steps toward the development of this shared field and the expansion of the country's oil production."

As the executive arm of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), Petropars has established a remarkable track record under the 14th Administration in delivering strategic energy projects. From setting new production records at South Pars Phase 11 and launching the field's infill drilling program to advancing the development of the Bilal Gas Field and the South Azadegan Shared Oil Field, Petropars has continued to accelerate the development of Iran's shared oil and gas fields. Maintaining operational continuity and production under challenging conditions has also remained a key element of the Group's commitment to ensuring sustainable energy production and supply.
